Trekking in Langtang Region

The region north of capital offers a multitude of trekking destinations, all accessible by surface.

Langtang region is one of the most popular regions among the tourist as well as Nepali and Indian pilgrimage. The three major areas are Langtang, Gosainkund and Helambu, which can be combined in many ways to make treks from 7 to 16 days. The famous holy lake Gosainkund is located in this region at an altitude 4300 metres and thousand of Hindu pilgrims visit the lakes during a full moon festival in August.

It is very much popular trekking route after Everest and Annapurna region. If weather is fine, one can see a whole range of Langtang from Kathmandu Valley. This region has one of the 8013m Himalaya Sisapangma, which lies in Tibet but it is in the Langtang range.This region is chiefly inhabited by two ethnic groups like Tamang and Sherpa whose religious practices, language and culture are very much influenced by Tibetans.This area is also very famous for sub-alpine flower, animals and medicinal Vegetations.

Helambu Trek – Langtang Region

This brief, 7 days trekking tour will give us the chance to know about the region of Helambu, the third natural settlement of Sherpa population. We will follow a circular tour from Sundarijal gradually to the north, finishing in Melamchi Bazaar. A night in Dhulikhel, one of the best places to view beautiful snow capped mountain range.
